I always say something when someone has food stuck in their teeth. Do you? I know that drives some people nuts when you point something like that out, but the way I see it….it’s going to be an awkward moment when they find out. Better to point it out early on (albeit a little socially awkward) rather than have a self discovery moment hours after you’ve eaten and seen dozens of people. If you don’t you should. I feel it’s just common courtesy.
It’s a new year and hopefully you’re sticking to your resolutions. If you didn’t make any that’s OK…. I’ve got an easy one for you to keep. Get Floss. Flossing helps remove the particles stuck between your teeth and gums left over from foods and drinks. If you don’t floss those particles can harden into tartar which causes gum disease. Toothbrushing helps but you really need floss to get them out.
The first step to daily flossing is make sure you have some. Then make sure it’s out next to your tooth brush. Products like Plackers, or Reach Access Flosser are a great alternative to winding the floss around your fingers. Not only are these important for every day hygiene, but they also help avoid those socially awkward moments discussed above.
The most important thing is get something in between your teeth to remove those particles. And don’t neglect your check ups and routine hygiene visits
